A while ago I saw someone post a problem about director and an .ini
error message as follows:

(Unable to load movie playlist. Does the .INI file exist? It must
contain a section '[Movies]' with an entry 'Movie01=Pathname.dir')

I have recently upgraded to Windows XP professional, currently running
Director 8.5.1 and evaluated MicroAngelo 5.5 to change my projector.exe
icons. This is a great program and is very easy to use (works fine
under 98/2000/Me) however, as soon as I did this under XP with
MicroAngelo 5.5 I noticed that it corrupted my .exe and after trying to
launch the program received error mentioned above.

MicroAngelo makes a backup of your .exe just in case. Reviewing the
file size of the new .exe and old .exe clearly shows what is going on.

My original .exe (2.1 MB)
.exe after updated icons in MicroAngelo 5.5 (64 kb)

Don't know if anyone else has gone up to XP but what are some common
tools do you use for this purpose?

Subject: Re: <lingo-l> Projector Error: Does the .INI file exist?

Someone sent me a reference that helps clarify the Projector.INI issue.

See O'Reilly's Director in a Nutshell p. 200 and DOUG at
http://www.zeusprod.com/nutshell/otto.html. The .INI file is an
undocumented feature. DOUG's Web site explains the .INI file structure.
The other references people have sent are also good.

Thanks everyone for your help.
