? I was suggesting you use the mask image in a copyPixels parameter list dImage.copyPixels(sImage, dRect, dRect, [#maskImage: mImage]) thus there is no "rendering" as such. By rendering do you mean the copyPixels operation itself? It is already a blindingly fast operation, especially when performed on images in RAM. I don't know how much slower it might be by adding a maskImage parameter, but I'll try it and see. I strongly suggest you find a copy of James Newton's book "Director Shockwave Studio Developer's Guide." To quote from p.75: "The mask image can be any bit depth, except 16 bit." His 'Copyxels.dir' movie (on the book's CD) demonstrates ALL the options for the copyPixels command in a very visual and interactive manner, and is itself worth the price of admission. -Sean.
