That reminds me of the advice I used to give people who asked me what computer they should get. I would tell them that if they wanted the hobby to be about computing, and they wanted to get really into the technicalities of it all, maybe they should buy a PC. If on the other hand they wanted to create stuff, and it was incidental that it happened to be on a computer, they would enjoy using a Mac more.
