unloadMember() with no params might help. Also simply reducing the 
bitdepth as much as possible and eliminating alpha channels if 
they're not necessary can make for great speed gains.

Finally, you could try either filmloops or exporting your movie as an 
animation sequence, then reimporting it in another movie.
