good morning everyone,

and thanks for your replies.

xtras - apart from what buzz said, the modify-film-xtras thing shouldnt
really have entered into the problem anyway, since i have a stub projector
and my xtras are in a folder. director should in this case automatically
work with the appropriate version (x32 or mac), right ?

the situation - i imported the mp3s non-linked, i have #sound cast members,
they play fine in win-auth, win-projector and mac-auth, they fail in
mac-projector. if i use my stub projector with non-protected *.dir files on
the mac the sound just doesnt play. if i use the stub with protected *.dxr
files i get an error message round about every time a new sound should start
playing (the message says "where is..." without a file name; the whole thing
works fine on pc, no error messages there).

why?- could it be a path-problem?? but i IMPORTED the files! how can i be
having a path problem? (also: all my other linked media such as quicktime
work fine)
i have also tried re-processing my wavs into mp3s on the mac (instead of
doing it in win) and then importing those mp3s into director. that didnt
change anything.
oh, and my swas now dont function anymore either (no error message with both
*.dir and *.dxr movies). could it all be a volume problem? ie. is something
maybe played but just at zero volume? does fadeIn / fadeOut maybe not work
on a mac? i'm clutching at straws here...
as of now i have one *.wav click sound that gets played fine. the rest:
desaster!

versions - it's director 8.5.1 for windows on win 2000 and for mac on mac os
9.2

greetings,
heike
(feeling stupid)
