All, A quick bit from my end on where undocumented features come from: 1. Something that was implemented but couldn't get to a stable enough state (due to bugs) prior to shipping in order to get "official feature" status.
2. Features that crept in late in the game and didn't recieve enough testing to get "official feature" status. 3. Dev engineers can be a sneaky bunch, they sometimes slip things into the features they're working on that are never officially part of the product release. 4. Dev engineers can be a helpful bunch, they sometimes slip features into Lingo for QA to use in the early rounds of testing a given release and its features. It's not that Macromedia as a company doesn't want you to know about these items, it's just that if the company publishes any sort of documentation on a feature then that implies official support on some level (or folks will assume that implies some sort of support) for those features. Thus, if a feature doesn't get official sanctioning (which includes feature planning, testing and bug fixing) then it stays out of the documentation. We're not trying to be sneaky here. :) Here's my list of undoc'd features, there are far more of course (you won't find floodFill on my list, yet), but these are the ones I've bothered documenting. But always remember that you use undocumented features at your own risk, test heavily, test often and then test again. Don't expect undoc'd features to remain in the product from release to release, they may change they may go away completely.
