You use buddy, baGetFile, or baGetFolder... set a "default directory". The file browser opens. If you use "*.*" as the file type, it shows all files and folders. Besides that, what more are you trying to do? Like allow double-clicking to launch a file or something? What do you want the folder dialog to return? I'm missing the problem because this "just works."
