------------- property spriteNum property pScriptProperty
on beginSprite me pScriptProperty = "Reading For Comprehension is Fun" end
on DisplayValue me, sUnknownProp put sprite(spriteNum).getProp(sUnknownProp) -- or put the ""(sUnknownProp)"" of sprite(spriteNum) end -------------
That works fine with "SendAllSprites(#DisplayValue, #pScriptProperty)" but not with "SendAllSprites(#DisplayValue, #locH)"
OOP-Nazis who actually provide answers to the question asked are welcome.
Or:
You are correct, OOP-Nazi, unfortunately, the sprite object as programmed in director doesn't seem to conform to your model, and I can't hack the sprite-object to fix that. Perhaps there is a way to do it without a LUT or do statement for those sprite properties?
Or how about:
Yes, OOP-Nazi, you are right. Accessor methods are exactly what I need. Now, how do I write a generic accessor which will return the value of any sprite-object property or property of that script-instance, without specifically addressing each sprite-object property.

+10 PITA points to anyone who says I really ought to make sure that sUnknownProp isn't void, and getAProp in the first bit of code up there.

But sprite(21) and #LocH don't work.
x = #locH -- or #blend, or any sprite property put sprite(21).getProp(x)
SYNTAX ERROR
How about
put the locH of sprite 21
and
put the blend of sprite 21
...?
It's not .syntax but it orter work. Or is there a reason you need it all to be in .syntax?
(The flash guy is already done with his code...his screen objects are full objects.)
It's much easier to write "code" in Flash using the kiddy point-and-click UI, true.
