I get the list in digest mode so I am a bit behind in finding your email
regarding using your director projector on windows and mac.

You do not need a mac or director for mac.

You need a stub projector made on a mac. Check out "stub" in your
manuals. A stub projector is a movie projector with only one cast
member, a startmovie script that says something like:

on startmovie
   go to movie "yourmoviename"
end

check out the "go" command in your manuals.

You then post to this list asking for someone to send you a mac stub
projector with the above code. It is best if you give your movie file a
generic name such as "main" or "first". Do not put ".dir" at the end of
your movie name. You will need to specify your window size and whether
you want it full screen or in a window, your stage colour and any other
settings that you are using when making a projector on the windows side.

You then have two stub projectors on your CD, one for Windoze and one
for Mac. You may call the stub projector "Start" so that the user has
the idea that it is this file that you use to run everything. Your other
file(s) should not be converted into projector(s) but using the Update
Movies menu command you protect your files which prevents other people
opening your file and stealing whatever. Check out "protect" in your
manuals.

So your final Cd will have a "Start" stub projector made on a Mac, a
"Start.exe" made on Windows, one or more protected movies and another
folder called "Xtras" that hold all of the xtras that your movies need
to run. Your manuals should tell you all about this or one of the many
"How to use Director" books that are about.

While I am on the subject, can someone please send me a Director 8 Mac
stub projector with this startmovie code:

on startmovie
   go to movie "main"
end

Stage colour is black with a 640 x480 pixel stage size.

Please make it with only these selections made in the projector options
window:

Options: Full Screen
Stage Size: Use Movie Settings
                         Centre
Player: Standard
Memory: Use System Temporary Memory

If you are feeling generous can you also make up a second stub projector
as above but with:

Options: Show title bar

to give me the option to use a full screen stub or a window stub.

I would be happy to supply a Windoze Director 8 stub projector to your
specs in return.

Regards,
Kelvin.
