Just a last point. Macromedia stipulate in the licence agreement that you
must display the 'Made with Macromedia' logo for a prerequisite number of
seconds with any distributed product. Since I doubt any client would want
this splash logo in their stub projector, acqiring a 'distributed' stub
from some third party would imply that, to be legal, it would have to be
'splashed', thus rendering it unacceptible to the client.
OTOH a programer contractor will often work with a company, and utilise
his/her software to create bits and pieces required. These usually include
a stub movie encapsulated into an install prog.
....Still not clear, is it. I guess such ambiguities as this keep the
be-suited legal b......s in their BMWs. Macromedia won't loose because
more work would be developed if stubs were distibutable by whoever. Only
us poor developers struggling to earn a crust for our families suffer.
