Thanks for the replies I got so far.

I made an invisible cursor cast member, which worked the same way as cursor
200. (I didn't really need to use imaging lingo, just made an 8 bit empty
bitmap and used insert -> cursor) Unfortunately, it didn't work any better
then cursor 200, and it still changes into an hourglass.

Wiping the cursor images - I don't see how that would work any differently
then creating an invisible cursor image without imaging lingo (since you're
still only wiping the image of the cast member) I wonder if there's a
"cursor.image" property...?

The Technical Manager says he doesn't like the making-the
windows-hourglass-blank solution. One of his reasons is, he says, the arrow
still comes up when the movie that's loading is too big (we're talking 40-50
mb, easily).

He might go for the BudAPI solution (think I can do that with DirectOS), but
he seems to be fixated on importing/linking movies into a master movie. I'm
not too sure myself.

I also tried the on stepMove with an object to change the cursor, but that
resulted in the cursor flashing wildly.

Using the touch screen's method to hide cursor wouldn't work for us either,
because we'd need the cursor in windows/emergencies - same as making the
cursor blank in windows, which we already tried. It's a bit TOO well hidden,
I'm afraid...

So far, I think the best solution is the BudAPI one.
