Not a touch screen, surely ;)

>and in emergency cases go into the control panel and unhide the cursor?

You got a point there... We might go with that, if other solutions don't
work (the Tech. Man. actually looked thoughtfull when I told him about this)
but there are two problems:
1) museum curators are very odd people, and their knowlege of computers
seems to be in reverse proportion to their knowlege about the subject matter
of whatever the museum is about.
2) It's not always a touch screen. Much more problematic are projections
(you know, like in a cinema) - you can't use your finger, the touchscreen
software might not work without an acutal touchscreen (although you never
know).
Hmm... a thought just occured to me: I could launch ELO (the touchscreen
controller that we use here)on a key combination from director - it might be
simple enough to make the cursor visible again at that point.

Ideas are beginning to form... I can't thank you all enough for the
overwhelming response :)
