Kerry, this may be stupid, but did you reconfirm the case-sensitivity of the pathname? That could be the culprit if everything works locally and you're using a Unix server. Also, is the net-bound version, or your client playback thereof, behind a firewall? Do you need Proxy info? Finally, as a long shot, try a clearCache command. I've found certain things won't work if there is a cached version of the file. (This is less likely to be the problem if playing the cast member doesn't work either.)
