Wouldn't Flash throw an error if a movie with the new action scripts
commands is exported into Flash 4 format?

I assume you mean the Flash files go haywire, not Shockwave. If I'm right,
are you using any of the new Flash 5 Action Script commands? They won't
work in a D8 projector.
