Not completely sure of the reasons, but you only have to test the 
theory with JPEGs. More compressed JPEGs decompress a lot faster than 
less compressed JPEGs. I'm currently using some 700K/S Sorenson 
movies, and they are at the limits of my 500 MHz PowerBook G4, with 
the frame rate sometimes dropping. I had 350 K/S ones before that, 
which played ok. Normal data rate for CD-ROM use is 160 - 200 K/S.
