Pekka, you probably tried this already but if not:
Check the bitdepth of the offending machines.
My guess is that the machines with Photoshop installed are set to 24/32 bit,
and the machines with the color shift are set to 16 bit.

I've noticed this color shift with #shape backgrounds that I had to change
to #bitmap to get consistent color across the board.
