I have used checkForQT(4) in my on startMovie script which I think is
working fine.
But t when I wanted to test on PC which had QT4 installed and I
uninstalled it using uninstall in control panel of PC. Even though it
said that QT was uninstalled it didn't seen to be as the QT movies still
played both inside the director projector and outside.
So then my friend trawled through everything deleting anything to do
with QT (and there seemed to be an awful lot) till we finally did
uninstall QT. Now QT wouldn't play outside the projector. That's what we
wanted but when I launched the director projector it didn't stop to
alert that no QT was installed and went straight to movie with QTs which
then showed up with red X through where the QT should be.
What does "checkForQT( )" actually check for and is there a better way
to do this?
I tried this on 2 PC machines and the same result each time.
On mac when I diabled QT extensions and control panel the dir project
did do the stop and alert.
I am using the same code on both platforms.
I hope I have explained this properly. If anyone has any insight into
this I would appreciate it.Thanks
