Honestly, I'm not sure. It might have something to do with drivers or registry
entries, but that's a guess. Luckily, there won't
be too many people who have uninstalled a version of QT on their computers.

Perhaps I should have asked my original question again too - what does or how does
this check for QT. When I tried to test on a PC I
tried to uninstall QT using control panel and even though it said that QT was
uninstalled the QTs would still play both inside the
projector and outside (by doubleclicking QT movie) Now this is I supposed a PC thing
as it actually didn't uninstall everything QT -
so my code didn't stop at alert to install QT in my projector. So that maybe is OK -
but when I did actually uninstall QT by getting
rid of everything QT related in the computer that I coulf find - QT did not play
either inside the projector nor outside - but the
check for QT again didn't stop at the alert. Perhaps it's not a lingo question but I
am curious. I tried this on 2 PC and the same
result on each
