while I agree with the previous suggestions, I would sincerely suggest you
refrain from using a repeat loop within any handler as long as you can avoid
in this case try this construct.

property pdownflag

on mousedown me
  pdownflag=1
end

on mouseup me
  pdownflag=0
end

on enterframe me
  if pdownflag then
    Sprite (6).locV = sprite(6).locV-1
    updateStage
  end if

end

repeat loops tend to make sound choppy and would interfere with any other
jobs the processor is on.
