You might not have guessed it, but you just asked a complicated 
question. The simple answer to what I think you need is to use the 
Open command:

open "document path" with "application path"

It may be that you don't know the application path, and so then it 
gets trickier. The BuddyAPI Xtra can do a lot of things, one of which 
(I think) is to allow you to open a document in a way that the system 
just works out the application part for you. Look into that.

The other possibility, that makes the question even more complicated, 
is that there is a PowerPoint importer for Director. You could import 
the presentation and then play it as a Director movie. It's somewhat 
limited, I think it uses PowerPoint 3 files, and it may fail to all 
the transitions you had in the original file. If you do that, I would 
use the import as a starting point, and then tweak it in Director to 
clean up anything that isn't ideal.
