You can't - not with the audio xtra and I believe that's the only one that
would do it.

So you're saying you need video to play while audio is recording? Think
about it - why?  I mean, is the video going o play with the other
character 'waiting' for the user to respond? If so, why not pause the
video - or do the bitmap grab, record the audio and then play the next
video in line.

That's the way mine does it - user can choose from either side of a
conversation and play that character. There are x number of segments of
the conversation - obviously the same number for either charcter - and it
just alternates between video/record audio, and on playback, alternates
between video and recorded audio snippets.
