I outline a bunch of them in the article but the primary problem is that many standard behaviours for buttons will not work because they rely on mouseEnter/within/Leave events and these events don't reference the LDM but rather the stage so you can get some weird effects.
Also have you ever tried to navigate from an LDM to another part of the stage score where the LDM sprite doesn't exist anymore? BOOM. (It's kind of like sitting on a branch while you try to cut it off the tree and then wondering why you end up falling to the ground :-) You have to make sure that the LDM sends a message that is held in que in the stage until the LDM event is complete then the navigation step can occur. This kind of navigation is something a beginner might try but then have a hard time figuring out why the crash. (I know you have to be careful closing MIAW's as well) Sound is also problematic. Text editing is no existent. There are work arounds to most of these problems but they aren't for the faint of heart. I'd be curious to hear what kinds of things you've done with LDM's that have worked well for you. later, Rob Jean Legault wrote: > What kind of issues are there with LDMs, I've used them a few times without > encountering any problems but I can't say the same with MIAW. > > j.
