My strong impression is that (at least the majors) will not issue a 
Visa/MasterCard other than with PayWave/PayPass installed and enabled.

I happened to be in a Bendigo branch recently, and enquired.

They said that the only way to avoid PayWave/PayPass is to use an ATM card.

So I'll be very interested in the information that people can get from:
-   CPS
-   ANZ
-   Bendigo
