Correct, Karl.  This is just an ongoing part of the Industrial Revolution;
the move from the homespun to the industrially produced, in this case by
the The Dark Satanic Google Mills.  Positives include: more efficient
production production, lower purchase cost, standardisation, quality
control, centralised control of production.  Negatives: more efficient
production (job losses), lower cost (less profit squeezes smaller
producers), standardisation (one size fits all), quality control
("just-good-enough" quality), and centralised production (rise of corporate
control of life, the commodification of everything).

Another effect of robotic/fleet cars is also added trackability though we
are already highly trackable through our mobile phones.
