Arguing somewhat against my suggestion that STEM is the way to go, I suggest that the most important skill is "critical thinking".
I put it in quotes because there are many definitions of the term, however, I would go along with any that incorporated two essential components: 1) Reason/logic ... 2) ... that is consistent with observed/experienced evidence. Science is heavily predicated on this, religion is the opposite. A scientific theory will fall given a single inconsistency with evidence. Religious belief is immune to evidence (IMHO). STEM incorporates critical thinking but critical thinking extends way beyond STEM. -- Regards brd Bernard Robertson-Dunn Sydney Australia email: [email protected] web: www.drbrd.com web: www.problemsfirst.com Blog: www.problemsfirst.com/blog _______________________________________________ Link mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.anu.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/link
