My point was that with the current Telstra/Optus cable gateways, you
have just one box, the cable modem with router and Wifi access point
all in one. Telstra even gives customers a choice of model, with a
premium version available at higher cost.
Going to an "nbn connection box" plus a separate user router is a
backwards step: more complexity, more space, more electricity...
Not if the NBN was wireless!
