What they didn't say is what happens to existing Telstra/Optus HFC internet customers. I have 100mbit downlink (but ~3Mbit uplink) on Telstra with DOCSIS 3.0 right now, so will I be better off on an NBN plan on the same cable? Possibly, as a 100/40 NBN plan from iiNet is about the same price but has much faster uploads, assuming the iiNet HFC NBN plan would cost the same as an iiNet FTTN HFC plan.

I don't understand why their FAQ shows the cable terminating at an "nbn connection box" which then connects to service provider equipment and not directly to mine. Both Telstra and Optus already supplied all in one cable modem/router/access point devices on their existing services.
