What actually is the benefit of an automated vehicle where the driver has to closely monitor every action of the computer? Having to continually worry whether the computer was applying enough braking or acceleration, or whether it had "noticed" this or that, seems much less relaxing than simply driving. And if there is an accident, to what extent am I legally responsible because I failed to correctly anticipate what was going on in the computer at the time? How would my comprehensive and third-party-personal insurance companies react?
