Some Inner Westies have had so much difficulty, they asked for and received a backup mobile internet service from Telstra, which activates automatically when the wired connection is not working. This requires a Telstra "Smart Modem", with a SIM card in it. It automatically switches to the mobile data network when the cable stops working (Vodafone offer a similar service called "4G Backup").

Of course the wireless is slower, but at least it provides a service, during wired outages.
