Ah, for the good old days when you COULD fix mainframes with duct tape! We duct-taped the memory-configuration pin matrix on a 370-168 when the pins got too loose, and it worked wonderfully. When the 4381 arrived to replace the 168's companion (a 370-158), we couldn't use tape to fix anything any more - everything was done using menus and menu choices, no more switches except for POWER ON. So much for progress :-) Ross
