I think it is remarkable how we managed to keep discussions on this list so focussed. I also subscribe to some others like the LCDS mailing list, and the pattern is much different there. Most questions are not answered or discussed off-line, and the remainder of posts end up in religeous fights about whether you should run Linux programs on Windows desktops, or (even worse) whether the arguments someone had for his choice are proper arguments for a discussion in general. It is fairly easy to PF4 the remaining posts on a thread that went a very different way, and if nobody cares about the subject the thread will end anyway.
