Moloko, what do you mean by "my linux system doesn't see it"?  (EMIF is
transparent to the operating system.)

Are you pinging the 2216 IP address or the host (Linux) IP address?  Are
you saying that as soon as you ping the <2216 or Linux> IP address, the
channel disappears and Linux gets I/O errors?
