Firstly I think you'll ask: **WHAT IS OMEGAMON II FOR MAINFRAME
NETWORKS?**
OMEGAMON II� for Mainframe Networks is the new name for OMEGAMON II for
VTAM.
Why the change? Because mainframe-centric networks have changed to become
focused on TCP/IP -- not just VTAM. TCP/IP is now the backbone for most
data communications, especially for online transaction processing, as
distributed and Web-enabled front ends have emerged.
Our VTAM customers do not need to worry -- OMEGAMON II for Mainframe
Networks still provides a unique view of VTAM in how the network is
performing and how VTAM is behaving as a workload on MVS.
Candle Corp. are pleased to announce that OMEGAMON II for Mainframe
Networks, Version 520, is now Generally Available. The focus of this
release is to add to and enhance the TCP/IP performance and availability
monitoring capabilities, including newly expanded TCP/IP analysis and
built-in alerts covering a range of metrics -- as well as usability
enhancements.

OMEGAMON II for Mainframe Networks demonstrates Candle's leadership and
commitment to mainframe systems management.

Note: Watch this space for information on the new OMEGAMON XE for Mainframe Networks
v100, which is now in Field Test. It is targeted for general availability in
May, 2002. OMEGAMON XE for Mainframe Networks v100 has the browser-based
OMEGAMON XE interface, allowing integration with other Candle solutions
and third-party software through OMEGAMON DE. Version 100 focuses on the
TCP/IP information that OMEGAMON II for Mainframe Networks monitors.
Subsequent releases will following with VTAM, SNA, and NCP data provided
to the OMEGAMON XE interface.
