In the FAQ's for the new announcements, there is this Q&A: ********* Question: Why is zSeries FCP enablement initially provided as "limited availability?"
Answer: At the moment, there is no official Linux distribution that contains the requisite support and drivers available for FCP on zSeries. The zSeries device drivers have been submitted to IBM DeveloperWorks (ibm.com/developerworks) and are available to the developer community as part of public knowledge. zSeries is making its FCP enablement available to those customers and developers who want the added choice of getting this Licensed Internal Code directly from IBM and want to experiment with FCP in a test environment on their own. Please see the "Fibre Channel Protocol (FCP) for Linux z800/z900 Request Form" available in the IBM Resource Link planning section (ibm.com/servers/resourcelink/planning; registration required) for more information. General availability and zSeries support of FCP will depend on when the device drivers are integrated into Linux and officially made available by one of our Linux distribution partners. ******** I've been all over DeveloperWorks, and http://www10.software.ibm.com/developerworks/opensource/linux390/whatsnew.sh tml looking for the FCP drivers. The latest (March 4) Device Drivers and Installation Commands manual doesn't mention FCP. Does anyone know where the FCP support for S/390 lives? The FCP stuff is quite interesting.
