VM is at level 4.2
Linux is at level 7.2
The OSA card is not used as a router (at least in this installation), but
shared between both TCPIP (1st level of VM) and several Linux images
running as guests of a second level of VM.
All the I/O devices are REAL devices, dedicated to the corresponding
images.
Again, the installation runs fine at first level (Linux guest of the 1st
level VM). Problems appear when installing the Lx guest at 2nd level of VM.

What level of Linux and VM are you using?
I have terrible performance on OSA/GigE feeding a HiperSockets network.
I think in both our cases the common denominator is Gigabit Ethernet
using the OSA as a router.
I'm wondering if we're seeing the same problem.
