You can easily get NFS problems in low-memory situations and
very high MTUs can add to this problem.
Does adding RAM and/or reducing the MTU to ethernet-size with
"ifconfig eth0 mtu 1500" reduce the symptons?

What NFS-server is used for the installation? Are http/ftp installs ok,
or do they show similar issues?
