I would have liked for 1.0.1 to be released with 3.0, but unfortunately it
was not ready before the start of the (long) freeze period. Fortunately,
there is no need to download and build EVMS 1.0.1 from sources, as EVMS
1.0.1 packages are available from Debian unstable. These packages are just
as well tested as the 1.0.0 packages, and will work perfectly on a Debian
3.0 system. They are available for all Debian architectures, including
S/390.

Also, for those who wish to experiment with the latest EVMS features, my
packages for EVMS 1.1.0-pre4 are available in source code and i386 binary
form at http://people.debian.org/~mdz/evms/. I am not currently providing
precompiled S/390 binary packages for the pre-releases, but once 1.1.0 final
is released, this version will be available in ready-to-run binary form
(including S/390) from Debian unstable just as 1.0.1 is now.

If there is sufficient interest from the community, I will provide updated
EVMS packages for future releases, built specifically for Debian 3.0.
Feel free to contact me with questions or comments regarding Debian on
S/390, or EVMS on Debian.
