There's a note attached to my Devil's Dictionary explaining that not all of the definitions will make sense to everyone - some are targetted to specific and even quite small groups. The definitions of the 'Lotus position' and 'replication' fit into this category. I've seen it have immediate and obvious effects at analyst meetings. You arrive, you meet and greet, and there's a reception. Just no IBMers. Eventually dinner starts, and the IBMers turn up.
