I have the CD's for S390 Debian GNU/Linux. After booting CD1 from the HMC I am able to set up the network and telnet into the Debian LPAR. There is no direct access to the internet from my machines so I will install from the CDs. CD1 is moved to a unix server (newton) and is accessed from the path /cdrom/cdrom0 on that server. On telnet'ng to S390 Debian, dbootstrap is entered. It sets up a swap and root partition. The next step is to install a kernel and driver modules. The only option open to me from the dbootstrap menu is to install via NFS. I set up the server and path to the kernel and driver modules as follows:
newton:/cdrom/cdrom0/dists/woody/main/disks-s390/current This is rejected with the following error messages: Sep 11 05:11:21 (none) user.info dbootstrap[640]: mount: Mounting newton:/cdrom/ cdrom0/dists/woody/main/disks-s390/current on /instmnt failed: Invalid argument Sep 11 05:11:21 (none) user.err dbootstrap[640]: Error mounting NFS filesystem ` newton:/cdrom/cdrom0/dists/woody/main/disks-s390/current', please try again. I am able to NFS mount the CD from other unix/linux servers. Ideas or solutions to fix this problem will be greatly appreciated. Geoff McKee Emirates Airline Dubai UAE
