Jere, Either configure the CHPID online to the LPAR from the service console, or power-on-reset the whole box. Then, in either case, re-IPL your Linux/390 system.

What should I need to do to make this new channel show up in /proc/chandev and/or /proc/subchannels? This new channel will be used to connect to a CIP router via the CLAW protocol, if it makes any difference. At this point I simply want to be able to see the subchannels from linux.
