Phil is referring to the Wall Street Linux for zSeries Customer Council. It is a group of Wall Street firms who are IBM zSeries customers, and who are running or considering to run Linux on zSeries. Sponsored by IBM, they meet in NYC on a regular basis to learn about subjects important to them and to air any issues (technical or political) they have. It gives us (IBM) an opportunity to learn what is Really Important to this particular segment of the industry. This isn't unusual; IBM often uses customer councils to obtain insight into certain markets and customer sets. As a small group under Non-Disclosure Agreements, things can be said and discussed in this venue that would not be appropriate at a Tech Conference or user group meeting. As an aside, I had the pleasure of attending (along with my cohort, John Franciscovich) the December meeting where the subject of IBM support for various distros was discussed. The bottom line is that if IBM's middleware support position does not meet your company's needs, then you need to make your needs known to IBM. Alan Altmark Sr. Software Engineer IBM z/VM Development
