I don't have this PRINT_DRIVERS.txt file, but if you mean upload print drivers to the samba server so that windows clients can download them when they install the samba shared printer, yes. I can install drivers on the samba server from my w2k box, and w2k clients automatically download them when they install the samba shared printer. Some drivers work better than others. By that I mean the default windows drivers that I've tried seem to work, and I've had mixed results with various drivers the vendors provide with their printers. Check out the samba howto collection section 6.2 ( http://us1.samba.org/samba/docs/Samba-HOWTO-Collection.html#AEN787 )... it does a good job going through the process.
FYI there were quite a few print fixes since 2.2.5. You should look into getting 2.2.7a, as there was a security vulnerability in there as well. ~ Daniel > -----Original Message----- > From: richard truett > Sent: Tuesday, January 14, 2003 12:56 PM > Subject: SAMBA 2.2.5 Print drivers > > > OK, Since the PRINT_DRIVERS.txt states the procedure there > does not work > with NT, has anyone gotten SAMBA to load print drivers to NT > and WIN2K? > > I have searched with GOOGLE and I've not found any instructions on how > to do it. > > ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This message is the property of Time Inc. or its affiliates.
