I had left out a step, and I think it might not be in the doc. Sorry...
maybe it was causing your problems?

> 5. Open the printers folder on the Samba host.

Does the printer in question show a status of "Error" in the "Printers
on [server]" window?

> 6. Right click the printer I want to upload the driver to Samba for.

After the right click (properties) was the part I forgot. In w2k the
prompt is
"Device settings cannot be displayed. The driver for the specified
printer is not installed. Only spooler properties will be displayed.
Do you want to install the driver now?"
No, you do not. If you click yes, it jumps right into driver
installation for the local (windows) client, which you don't want. If
you click no, you are presented with the advanced tab and the new driver
button, and selecting a new driver will upload the driver to the print$
share.

> 7. Click the advanced tab.

But you got the advanced tab? Did you already install the printer
locally? If so I'd uninstall the printer locally, and then try again
making sure you click "No" to the "...Do you want to install the driver
now?" prompt next time you open it from the printers share.

> 8. Press new driver button.
> 9. Selected the manufacturer and the proper driver.
> 10. Windows installed the selected driver on the PC, not Samba.
> 11. ?????

If you still have no luck... does the 'testparm' command report any
errors in your smb.conf file?

Hope this does it...
