Some Linux/Open Source tools I would like to recommend : - mrtg: already mentioned, can keep graphs/statistics of almost everything - netsaint/nagios: is also another great monitoring tool - bb: can monitor the status of a lot of daemons/services and send out warnings And there is offcourse IBM's Tivoli software line.
