Don,

If your G2 has the microcode that supports the "Halfword Immediate and
Relative Branch Feature" instructions, then you're all set.  Performance for
what you list as the initial uses _should_ be acceptable, but not sterling.
:)  Check through the archives for things that will stink because of the
lack of an FPU.

Has anyone here brought up a Linux/390 guest running under VM/ESA 2.4.0 on a
9672-R83 processor? I understand that the R83 will not have the IEEE FP
unit, but this user is very persistant.

The initial uses for this guest will be to provide POP/PROXY and FTP
