Watch out for comparing apples and oranges. The clock on a G2 does not tick as fast as on a G4 and some instructions may run even slower on G2 than you would expect based on just the cycle time. Being on an older machine the customer would also miss a lot of the goodies that are being added to z/VM to make things easier with Linux. I would not be surprised if it were more economical for the customer to upgrade to a new machine, but I understand there may be different motivations. Rob
