I thought of using Knoppix, then I thought maybe it's a too-big
download "just to run Hercules."

A couple of alternatives:

1. An ISO image _and_ jigdo template. Those who have (or want) Knoppix
can use the template to create the herculified ISO. Additionally, they
can get Knoppix of their local mirror.

2. A tarball to unpack on Knoppix (or similar) on hard disk.

3. Possibly an additional tarball to run Hercules in a chroot
environment. Testing changed glibc recently, and that has caused much
confusion, more to come.
