Hello all,

We have users reporting problems getting into on of our linux servers,
output from ifconfig shows:

hsi0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:00:00:00:00:00
         inet addr:146.125.x.x  Mask:255.255.255.192
         inet6 addr: fe80::200:ff:fe00:0/10 Scope:Link
         UP RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1492 Metric:1
         RX packets:122627421 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
         TX packets:189775405 errors:1 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:93
         collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
         RX bytes:3256137324 (3105.2 Mb)  TX bytes:4127477930 (3936.2 Mb)
         Interrupt:4

Note the "Carrier" value. As near as I can tell, this is supposed to
indicate "loss of carrier", but how can that happen on a guest LAN?

Neither of our other servers show errors in the ifconfig output.

Any ideas where to look?

Phil
