Hmmm. David and Adam work for the same company.

David said:

- MS buying Connectix was a clear step in that direction, and they have
- already announced that Longhorn will have virtual machine capabilities
built
- in. So, 2005ish, methinks.

But Adam said:

- Oh, to be young and naive again.

- Microsoft bought Connectix purely so that they could produce Mac
- versions of Office by dumping Office into VPC, and get rid of their
- actual Macintosh developers, because it was pretty embarrassing to the
- Windows side that Office looks and smells better on Mac than on
- Windows. Microsoft has no interest in selling you a Virtual Server. If
- they buy VMWare, it will be to kill it.

- Adam

But all the public information we really have to go on is this:

So, perhaps someone knows something that contradicts the MS press release???

Inquiring minds would like to know. My lips are sealed.
