We don't use VM but had a similar problem after an IPL of SLES 8.0 - turns out
the Service Element did not recognize a couple DASD volumes (one of which the
root & boot partitions reside on). Just needed a few changes to the
SE...............

I had this problem when the disk was not IPLable. I corrected it by
reinstalling to make sure that it contained root and boot partitions.
May be the bootstrap is corrupted somehow or thw wrong disk is being IPLed
from?
I do recognize the first part of the PSW but not the second, which in my
case was all zeroes and an 'F'.

Subject: vm guest waitstate
I'm running VM 4.4 with SLES7. Over this past w/e, after an IPL of VM, I
had one the the linux guest go into the following disabled wait:
disabled wait PSW 000A0000 802A24F0
Has anyone run into this waitstate before?? Any idea where I can find info
on it?? I checked the VM messages and codes but could find anything
relating to the state. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...
